Salmon Sundae

A day of rest and sleepy eyed cats
A well cooked salmon prepared on my food network grill
My salmon side-kick Belle poised and still
Sitting to my right hoping she'll get to nibble
Yummy tummy intently gummy lip smack saliva dribble
Night time jazz tune stereo play and Temple tap rapping the keys of black and white
a groove oh so tight the mood takes flight with delight I just might
Give Miss Button a pinch full more of that sweet lemon peppered salmon
yes salmon a fish I bought at the store the grocery store
Should I go back and see if they stocked up on more?
Besides . . .
Come to think of it I love and/or like salmon a heck of a lot
Belle would say the same eyes all squinty and looking like it hits the spot
But a different spot than the one causing her to vomit
It will stay for a while and eventually pass
But it will slowly digest and last
I want to cast not only a play some day but a fishing pole
Catch my own salmon or trout and mix a damn tasty dressing (to cream over that fish) in a bowl
So salmon, my friends, both Belle Walker and I love
And you should too
Thanks

Little by little

Twist right with the left hand and left with the right
Sketch the etch or etch the sky with your red lady bug kite
Only piece by piece will the puzzle be complete
Harvest grain with gentle care and little by little comes the wheat
Such is a garden with 19 tomatoes still growing
No corn or peppers nor weeded lawn worth that mowing
Still a tub with the hot after you run hits that spot
Of splendisity and joy deep inside every girl and boy
Little by little grows the beard to make the man
Holding the door is always that weird gent Stan
"That's man!" Oh indeed deedni ho
Back and forth and forth and back
The cats growing fats BLD feed routine break/din
No more time for snooze or sleep in little by little we grow (Fin)
